Some of the INL team visited the Culham Campus in September 2024 to watch the final stages of capsule assembly for the joint NIFT-E irradiation campaign. Here members of the UKAEA team responsible for capsule manufacture and assembly are seen with the INL visitors and NNUF Management Group members. On the table are 3 completed capsules containing graphite samples for irradiation, and the open capsule is loaded with 7 different kinds of metallic samples ready for assembly and final welding operations.

This week a great milestone is taking place for the NNUF funded project: Neutron Irradiation as a Function of Temperature Experiment (NIFTE).
The capsules containing a total of ~ 500 samples, are being assembled at the UK Atomic Energy Agency Culham Campus, and the Idaho National Laboratory team is on-site for the event. This project has involved universities and national laboratories from the US and UK, bringing a truly collaborative spirit.
It has been an absolute pleasure to work with such passionate and professional teams.
